Man held over gun, ammo at Kendall Village

The police are investigating the discovery of a firearm and ammunition at Kendall Village, East Coast Berbice, on Sunday.

According to a police statement, ranks received a report of alleged threatening behaviour at about 10.30 am and went to a location in the village where they made contact with a suspect.

During their enquiries, police observed a revolver in the man’s possession. When questioned, he  indicated that he was not the holder of a firearm licence.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and escorted to the Central Police Station along with the firearm.

Further checks revealed that the weapon contained one round of ammunition. The firearm and ammunition have since been lodged as investigations continue.
