GECOM resumes operations at Soesdyke

The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has announced the resumption of operations at its Soesdyke Registration Sub-Office following the completion of repairs to the building.

In a statement yesterday, GECOM said the office, located at the Te Huist Te Coverden Neighbourhood Democratic Council compound, resumed operations on June 24.

The office had been temporarily relocated to the Diamond Registration Office in December last year to facilitate rehabilitation works.

With the repairs now completed, GECOM is encouraging eligible residents within the Garden of Eden-to-Timehri and Moblissa catchment areas to conduct their registration transactions at the Soesdyke office.

The commission noted that the resumption of services comes ahead of a registration exercise scheduled to commence on July 1.

GECOM also expressed appreciation to members of the public affected by the temporary relocation, thanking them for their patience, understanding and cooperation during the period of closure.

The commission said it remains committed to providing efficient and professional service to the public.
