Camptown Football Club and Timehri United will battle for direct qualification to the 2026/2027 Elite League season after both sides produced convincing semi-final wins in the playoff competition on Wednesday night at the GFF National Training Centre, Providence.
The winner of the final will secure a place in next season’s Elite League, while the losing finalist will still have another opportunity to qualify through a fixture against Fruta Conquerors.
Camptown booked their spot in the final with a 3-0 victory over Potaro Strikers FC in the opening semi-final. Ozeal Small led the way with a double, while Jomaal Sedock added a stoppage-time goal to complete the result.
Although Camptown controlled much of the first half, Potaro Strikers remained organised defensively and made it difficult for them to find an early breakthrough. The pressure eventually told in the 41st minute when Small opened the scoring, giving Camptown a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Camptown continued to press after the restart and Small struck again in the 60th minute to put his side firmly in control. Sedock then sealed the win in the 90+1st minute as Camptown eased into the final.
In the second semi-final, Timehri United turned a tight contest into a comfortable 4-0 win over Beavers FC with all four goals coming in the second half.
The first half was closely contested, with both teams having periods of control. However, Timehri United grew stronger as the match progressed and made full use of their possession after the break.
Leroy Evans opened the scoring in the 47th minute before Nyron Barrow doubled the lead seven minutes later. Shawn Steele added a third in the 68th minute, while Michael Correia completed the scoring in the 90+4th minute.
The final is set for Sunday, June 21.
