Koberimo gets multipurpose building, school feeding mess hall

The new multipurpose building and school feeding mess hall at Koberimo.

A multipurpose building and school feeding mess hall were commissioned at Koberimo, Region One, on Wednesday, while residents were told that work to upgrade the community’s road to concrete is expected to begin within a month.

Education Minister Sonia Parag and Housing Minister Collin Croal attended the commissioning, along with Regional Education Officer Annansha Peters and other officials.

Speaking at the ceremony, Croal said the road works would be undertaken through the Ministry of Public Works. He pointed to improved road access and public facilities as important to creating opportunities for residents.

Croal also referred to efforts to improve water access, saying successful well drilling would bring further benefits to Koberimo. He encouraged residents to make full use of the new facilities for community development.

Those attending included Regional Chairman Brentnol Ashley, Vice-Chairman Paul Pierre, Mayor Trevi Leung, Regional Executive Officer Dr Steven Cheefoon and village toshaos.
