Kiskadee Watch Inc. is an independent, digital-first media company focused on Guyana.
Launched on June 14, 2026, Kiskadee Watch was created to meet the need for credible, independent, fact-based journalism in Guyana following the closure of the Stabroek News three months earlier.
The publication is led by Anand Persaud, the former Editor-in-Chief of Stabroek News, and supported by a team of former Stabroek News staff.
Our name is inspired by the Great Kiskadee, a loud, watchful, hardy, and adaptable bird that is familiar across Guyana. Like Guyana itself, the kiskadee endures difficult conditions. Kiskadee Watch brings that same spirit to its journalism.
Our goal is to help readers understand what is happening, why it matters, and who is affected. We aim to build a trusted news institution that protects editorial freedom, strengthens democratic debate, and keeps public-interest reporting accessible.
