Andre Cummings made a winning return to competitive golf on Sunday, capturing the overall title when Round Five of the Promotech and Danny Auto Sales National Top Flight Golf League Tour Number Two resumed at the Lusignan Golf Club.

The tournament returned after a five-week interruption caused by persistent rainfall, with Cummings producing a net score of 70 to secure the maximum 10 championship points. He also won the Back Nine prize with a net 34.

Following a scoring correction, Videsh Persaud was declared the Front Nine winner with a net 34. Persaud finished fifth overall with a net 76 to earn one championship point.

Patrick Prashad placed second with a net 73 and collected five points, while Joseph Szeplaki continued his consistent campaign by taking third with a net 74 and three points. Bala Vijimoor finished fourth with a net 75 to earn two points.

The round also featured a rare achievement from Brian Hackett, who recorded a hole-in-one on the 19th hole. The moment added further excitement to the competition following the extended weather delay.

Cummings later joked that he had won on the course but lost on the 19th hole, drawing laughter from the other players and reflecting the friendly atmosphere within the league.

The resumption was made possible after drainage improvements and desilting work by the Lusignan Golf Club grounds staff helped restore the course. Players returned to firmer fairways and improving greens after several weeks without competition.

Despite missing out on the major points in Round Five, Anand Persaud remains at the top of the championship standings with 18 points. Maxim Mangra is one point behind on 17, while Szeplaki strengthened his position in third with 14 points.

Videsh Persaud occupies fourth place with 11 points, while Cummings climbed to fifth following his victory and now has 10 points. Vijimoor is sixth with seven points.

Prashad and Santo Dinanauth are tied on six points, while Arnol Deo and Spencer Hutchings share ninth place with five points each. Fazil Hanif has four points, Mike Mangal has three, Hackett and Patanjilee Persaud have two each, and Chet Bowling has one point.

With only a few rounds remaining, the championship remains closely contested as the golfers prepare for the decisive stages of the tournament.
