A 10-lap contest awaits Open, Masters over-40, Category Four and Juniors/Juveniles riders when the AC Marriott Carlton Wheelers Cycling Club hosts its road race on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Starting at 7:30 a.m. from the AC Marriott, the event will also feature a five-lap race for Masters over 50 and a three-lap contest for Ladies. The programme offers $357,000 in category prizes, alongside eight sprint prizes worth a combined $16,000.
The circuit will take riders north from AC Marriott to the Ogle Airport stoplight, where they will turn and head south. They will continue to the first U-turn just beyond the police outpost on the Ogle Bypass Road, then return to the starting point.
With race distances ranging from three to 10 laps, the programme provides separate challenges for the six competition categories.
Open riders will race for prizes extending to sixth place. The winner will earn $45,000, while the next five finishers will receive $40,000, $35,000, $30,000, $20,000 and $15,000, respectively.
The Masters over-40 and Category Four competitions have matching prize structures, with $20,000 going to each winner, $15,000 to each runner-up and $10,000 to each third-place finisher.
For Masters over 50, the top three awards are $15,000, $12,000 and $10,000. Juniors/Juveniles will compete for a $20,000 first prize and $15,000 for second, while the Ladies’ first prize is $10,000.
The eight sprint prizes will each be worth $2,000, providing additional rewards during the morning’s racing.
“Ride hard. Ride smart. Race to win!” is the club’s message as riders prepare for Sunday’s event.
