Charity labourer on $50,000 bail over alleged assaults on police ranks

Vivon Tobin

A 22-year-old Charity labourer was granted $50,000 bail on Thursday after pleading not guilty to two charges of assaulting a peace officer.

Vivon Tobin, of Charity Back Street, Essequibo Coast, appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court.

The charges stem from an alleged incident on September 28 on the Charity Public Road involving two ranks attached to the Charity Police Station.

Tobin denied both charges and the matters were adjourned to February 8, 2027.
