Latoya Wills wins new Proton X50 SUV in MMG promotion

Latoya Wills

Latoya Wills, a mother of two, is now the owner of a brand-new Proton X50 SUV after emerging as the grand prize winner in Mobile Money Guyana’s (MMG) 13th Anniversary Race for the Keys 2026 Promotion.

A press release from Integrated Marketing Communications Inc said that the winning moment came during the promotion’s grand finale on Friday afternoon at Ansa Motors, where the 12 weekly qualifiers gathered for one final challenge. Each finalist was given the opportunity to choose one wireless key from a bag with 12 keys, knowing that only one key would unlock the vehicle.

When the vehicle responded to Wills’ wireless and confetti filled the air, excitement quickly turned to celebration.

“I am so shocked and happy at the same time. I can’t believe this. Still can’t believe it,” said Wills, according to the press release.

“This is my first car and I was actually telling my son, ‘every time I have to go somewhere I have to ask you for a ride, I better go learn to drive’ … but I was never ever really considering driving … This makes me feel content after everything I have been through … thanks to MMG”, she said.

The Race for the Keys Promotion formed part of MMG’s 13th Anniversary celebrations and rewarded customers who completed four qualifying transactions during the promotional period, which ran from March 16 to June 7, 2026.  The release said that each week, one customer was selected as a qualifier, automatically winning $100,000 each and earning a place in the grand finale to compete for the SUV.

The 12 finalists were Marsha Fraser, Lorraine Brittlebank, Rodella Derrick, Duane Peters, Latoya Wills, Claude Alexander, Ayana Douglas, Atasha Leitch, Shanette Simmons, Kevin Moore, Sahadeo Bandwah and Emanuel Paul.

Congratulating the winner, MMG’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Singh, said, “Today, we celebrate not only a lucky winner, but also the growing number of customers embracing digital payments and cashless solutions.”
