Success Elementary had highest number in top one percent of Grade Six performers

Success Elementary has emerged as the school with the highest number of pupils in the top one percent of performers in the 2026 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).

An analysis of the Ministry of Education’s list of top performers shows that 18 pupils from Success Elementary were among those who achieved outstanding results, making it the school with the largest representation in the country’s highest-performing group.

The achievement places Success Elementary ahead of several other schools that also recorded impressive performances in this year’s assessment.

Mae’s Under-12 Primary followed closely, with 15 pupils earning spots among the top one per cent, while Leonora Primary recorded 12 pupils.

Other schools with strong representation included Revon’s Academy, which had 10 pupils on the list, New Guyana School with nine students, Academy of Excellence with eight, and Canadian School of Arts & Science with six students.

Several other schools also produced multiple top performers, including Providence Primary, Graham’s Hall Primary, and North Georgetown Primary, each recording four students among the country’s highest achievers.

The Ministry of Education’s list featured pupils from schools across several regions, reflecting strong performances from both public and private primary schools. Students from communities across the country were represented among those who earned places at Queen’s College after excelling at the national examination.

This year’s list also highlighted the continued competitiveness of Queen’s College placements, as hundreds of pupils competed for opportunities at one of Guyana’s most prestigious secondary institutions.

Among the top performers were pupils  from schools in Regions Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Ten and Eleven.

Success Elementary’s performance adds to the school’s record of producing high-achieving students, while the results also highlight the achievements of schools that continue to prepare pupils for success at the national level.

The Ministry of Education released the names of students who attained top one per cent status and those awarded placement at Queen’s College following the conclusion of the 2026 NGSA process.
