French Guiana CSV Tour spot awaits Guyana’s top team at End Games

The local winners, or highest-placed Guyanese team, will qualify for the next tour leg in October 2026, giving the championship significance beyond the two days of competition.

Guyana’s leading beach volleyball teams will compete for an opportunity to advance to the CSV Tour in French Guiana when The End Games Beach Volleyball Caribbean Championship takes place on September 26–27.

The local winners, or highest-placed Guyanese team, will qualify for the next tour leg in October 2026, giving the championship significance beyond the two days of competition.

Hosted and sanctioned by the Guyana Beach Volleyball Association (GBVA) and the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF), the event is expected to feature national teams from Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Cayman Islands alongside Guyana’s top teams.

That regional field will provide local athletes with international opposition as they seek a place at the South American tour event.

The organisers also view the championship as preparation for a wider ambition: bringing a CSV Tour tournament to Guyana for the first time in 2027. The September event is intended to help build towards that proposed hosting opportunity.

According to the GBVA, this year’s End Games will be the first Caribbean Beach Volleyball Championship held in Guyana. It expands the reach of the association’s Annual End Game Beach Volleyball Tournament, described as the main event on its calendar.

Athletes, officials, supporters and stakeholders are expected to gather for a weekend aimed at showcasing local talent, promoting sportsmanship and strengthening regional connections through beach volleyball.

Sagacity and Autopits are among the main sponsors supporting the event. The GBVA is also working with the Ministry of Tourism and small businesses as part of its preparations.

The association said promised support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport was still being awaited.
