The lawyer for businessman Ernesto Choo-a-Fat said he is not in possession or control of a Windsor Estates property raided today by the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit.
A statement from attorney-at-law Sase Gunraj follows:
We are retained by Ernesto Choo-a-Fat
We are instructed as follows:
1. A post was made on the Facebook page of Azruddin Mohamed, Leader of the Opposition, earlier today the 3rd October, 2026, regarding a raid conducted by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on a property owned by our client;
2. The said property has been rented for in excess of 3 (three) years and therefore our client is not in possession or control thereof; and
3. As a consequence, the statements contained in the said post are false, malicious and defamatory, and have the effect of seriously impugning our client’s reputation.
We are instructed to immediately institute legal proceedings against the said Azruddin Mohamed in relation to the defamatory comments made therein.
