Agatash Primary recovered from defeat to claim a narrow victory, while West Ruimveldt overturned an early deficit to win on a busy Saturday in the Courts Optical Pee Wee football championship.
Agatash followed a 1–0 loss to Pakuri Primary with a 1–0 victory over Goed Fortuin Primary on October 3. West Ruimveldt, meanwhile, came from behind to beat FE Pollard Primary 2–1.
The day also featured hat-tricks from Johnathan Melvin and Dextroy Thomas, whose goals helped Leonora Primary and Belladrum Primary secure convincing victories.
For Agatash, Vishnan Charls provided the winning moment against Goed Fortuin, scoring in the 37th minute to give his team a positive finish after their earlier setback. Miles Schuman had scored the only goal of Agatash’s encounter with Pakuri in the seventh minute.
Pakuri were unable to follow that victory with another win. Their next match ended in a 1–0 defeat to Redeemer Primary, with Giddian Baechues finding the net in the 37th minute.
West Ruimveldt’s response came within the same match. FE Pollard took the lead through Malik Thorington in the fifth minute, but Kenneth Douglas brought West Ruimveldt level in the seventh. Jamiel Favourite then struck in the 18th minute to complete the turnaround.
While those matches were closely contested, defending champions Leonora delivered the day’s largest winning margin, defeating St Gabriel’s Primary 5–1.
Melvin scored in the first, second and seventh minutes to complete a rapid hat-trick. Neron Persaud added his name to the scoresheet in the 17th minute, followed by Elyon Hyman in the 37th. St Gabriel’s goal came from Nathan Melville in the second minute.
Belladrum’s 3–1 win over Soesdyke Primary belonged to Thomas, who scored in the fifth and 29th minutes before completing his treble in the 34th. His third goal restored Belladrum’s two-goal advantage after Judon De Jesus had scored for Soesdyke in the 32nd minute.
Elsewhere, St John the Baptist made their early goals count in a 2–1 victory over Colaaco. Elianna Grant opened the scoring in the first minute and Chrystian Haly doubled the lead in the 10th. Colaaco’s reply came through Zahir Critchlow in the 35th minute.
Both GIA teams also recorded victories without conceding. GIA 2 defeated St Aloysius Primary 2–0 through goals from Langdon Paulson in the 32nd minute and Esa Mirza in the 39th.
GIA 1 secured a narrower result against Marian Academy, with Yoseph Rivers’ 18th-minute strike enough to settle the match 1–0.
