Camptown and Anns Grove United could not be separated in a goalless GFF Elite League Season Eight encounter on Saturday, contrasting sharply with Guyana Police Force’s four-goal victory over Monedderlust at the same Providence venue.
Both teams collected a point from their hard-fought Matchday 11 meeting at the National Training Centre on October 17, with second-half substitutions failing to produce a winning goal.
Police, meanwhile, had four different players on target in a 4–0 result, beginning with Makayah Jervis’ opening-minute strike and ending with substitute Adrian Aaron’s late contribution.
For Camptown and Anns Grove, the search for a breakthrough continued throughout a tight contest. Neither side scored before the interval, prompting Camptown to make an immediate adjustment for the second half, with Jamaal Sedoc replacing Kester Warde in the 46th minute.
Anns Grove responded in the 60th minute by introducing Julius Hamilton for Alden Lawrence, but the deadlock remained.
Camptown’s Sherwin Evans was booked in the 63rd minute, followed by Anns Grove’s Kevon Gooding in the 68th as the teams continued their battle for an advantage.
With time running out, Camptown introduced Anthwone Williams and John Harry in the 76th minute. Anns Grove brought on Shomal Mc Pherson four minutes later, but neither bench could supply the change needed to settle the match.
A stoppage-time booking for Anns Grove’s Dequan Douglas was among the final incidents before the teams finished level.
Police’s route to victory was far more decisive. Jervis put them ahead after just one minute, and Dorwin George doubled the advantage in the 28th to establish a 2–0 halftime lead.
Monedderlust brought on Tyrel Delph at the restart in an effort to change the course of the game. However, Ryan Hackett made it 3–0 in the 54th minute, leaving them with an even greater deficit to overcome.
Further substitutions brought no reward for Monedderlust. Instead, Police added a fourth through Aaron, who entered in the 70th minute and scored in the 80th.
The result underlined Police’s range of scoring options, with contributions from four players backed by a clean sheet. Monedderlust will seek a response in their next outing, while Camptown and Ann’s Grove will aim to turn their next performances into victories.
