German’s Restaurant says its new Providence location is progressing towards a November opening.
The branch is being constructed on the former GEB building site along the East Bank public road. It will introduce a first for local dining – a drive-through Creole restaurant.
The new restaurant will be German’s fourth overall, adding to its original Tiger Bay branch, its Giftland Mall outlet, and its overseas location in Brooklyn, New York. Despite the modern look and convenience of the drive-thru, the owner stressed that the menu will remain rooted in the traditional creole dishes that have defined the brand.
“Our fundamentals remain the same…great food, especially soups, and affordability for every Guyanese,” he has told the Stabroek Business last September. “While we may experiment with adding items like curry gilbaka, pepperpot daily, or even popular street foods like egg balls and pholouri, German’s will continue to be accessible to all”, he asserted.
The expansion is being supported by Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, which the owner credited for playing a key role in the company’s growth over the past 20 years.
