New Chairman appointed for G Mining Ventures

G Mining (GMIN) Ventures on June 26 announced the appointment  of a new Chairman after Louis Gignac Sr.,did not stand for re-election.

GMIN has embarked on a major gold mining project at Oko West in Region Seven.

Gignac Sr. has had a long association with gold mining here and headed Cambior, the major partner in the Omai Gold Mines Limited project.

Gignac Sr.’s son, Louis-Pierre Gignac is a senior figure in GMIN.

A press release on June 26 from GMIN said that the following its annual general and special meeting of shareholders that day, the  Board of Directors appointed Jason Neal as Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. 

The release said that Neal has served as GMIN’s Lead Director since the Corporation’s founding in 2020 and brings approximately 30 years of experience in the mining sector to his new role. He currently serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Deterra Royalties Limited, Australia’s only major publicly listed royalty company, where he has been a director since 2022 and took on the interim CEO role in the fourth quarter of 2025.
