CARICOM High School Youth in Agriculture Video Competition launched

The CARICOM Secretariat has launched the CARICOM Regional High School Youth in Agriculture Video Competition.

Secondary schools across the Community are invited to showcase student-led agricultural initiatives through short, creative videos. The deadline for submissions is 4 September 2026.

A release from the CARICOM Secretariat said that the competition is being coordinated by the Secretariat in collaboration with the CARICOM Youth Advisory Body, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute, and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture.

High schools are invited to submit a one-minute video illustrating school-based agricultural production and highlighting student involvement. The release said that the competition allows students to creatively showcase, in a one-minute video, the crucial role agriculture plays in their community, country, and the Region. 

The prizes are: US$1 700 for first place, US$1 300 for second place, and US$1 000 for third place.
