Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) will launch its first mobile-banking application and an upgraded online-banking platform tomorrow, allowing customers to register and access more than 20 services without visiting a branch.
The launch will be held at the bank’s Beterverwagting branch, East Coast Demerara, from 11 am to 6 pm. Customers will be able to view demonstrations and receive assistance with using the new services.
According to the bank, customers can register themselves through the application without completing a physical form or visiting one of its branches.
The application will provide 24-hour access and allow customers to manage their accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, apply for banking products and conduct other everyday transactions using their mobile devices.
The bank has also upgraded its online-banking platform as part of the rollout.
DBL first announced plans for the application and other digital services in September last year.
At that time, Senior Manager of Visa Operations and Finance Jerrett Morgan said the planned improvements would give customers greater control over their banking.
Among the features announced were digital wallets and tokenisation, controls allowing users to permit or block certain types of transactions, enhanced security and expanded digital customer support.
The application is currently linked for download through Apple’s App Store from DBL’s official website.
DBL said the new services are intended to give customers greater access to banking without being restricted by branch opening hours.
