Eight members of the Guyana Fire Service are participating in a one-week incident command training programme in Dominica alongside firefighters from eight other Caribbean territories.

Facilitated by the Caribbean Association of Firefighters, the programme is being provided free of cost, with instruction delivered by professionals from Trinidad and Tobago and St Kitts and Nevis, according to a Fire Service release.

The training is intended to equip emerging officers with the knowledge and skills to manage incidents, coordinate response teams and make critical decisions during emergencies.

Other participants are drawn from Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Barbados, Montserrat, Dominica, Antigua, St Lucia, and St Kitts and Nevis.
