Letters To The Editor

No one is bothering with citizens’ complaints about noise nuisance

Dear Editor

It is puzzling to read that there are complaints about noise nuisance behind the Guyana Marriott Hotel. Citizens have complained about noise nuisance all over the country, about the increased decibels which seem to grow in proportion to the oily GDP, and nobody has bothered with them.

The Government itself has come in for criticism after its own noise making on Mashramani Day and on other events.

Will the Government consult with the noise-makers to create suitable spaces for them to make noise and enjoy the noisiness? Or perhaps to heal from the traumas which have resulted in this desire to punish others who think peace and quiet should be normal?

Yours sincerely,

Vidyaratha Kissoon
