Pakistan defeated West Indies by eight wickets on the fourth morning to level the Test series 1-1 and secure their first away victory in the format in three years.

Set a modest target of 75, Pakistan completed the chase despite losing Imam-ul-Haq and Azan Awais. Babar Azam sealed the victory in style by hitting Jomel Warrican for successive sixes after lunch.

The result ended Pakistan’s eight-match losing streak in away Tests and gave Babar a winning start to his second stint as Test captain. It also marked the third consecutive series between Pakistan and West Indies to finish 1-1.

Earlier, Ali Usman quickly removed the West Indies lower order inside the opening half-hour. He bowled Kemar Roach before the overnight score had changed, while Justin Greaves chopped a delivery from Mohammad Ali onto his stumps.

With the injured Brandon King unable to bat, Shamar Joseph was the final wicket to fall after hitting two boundaries. He top-edged Usman to leave Pakistan with a straightforward target.

Jayden Seales gave West Indies brief hope by removing Imam early, while Awais later edged onto his stumps. However, first-innings standouts Babar and Abdullah Shafique steadied the chase and guided Pakistan to a comfortable victory.

Summarised scores: Pakistan 387 (Shafique 160*, Babar 88, Warrican 6-112) and 77 for 2 (Babar 24*, Shafique 24*) beat West Indies 344 (Greaves 73, Chase 70, Sajid 4-85) and 117 (Sajid 4-32, Usman 4-39) by eight wickets
