KFC Goodwill Tournament 2025 Most Valuable Player Malcolm Hendricks has departed Guyana to begin a high-performance training programme in Panama and Brazil.
Hendricks, who completed his examinations in June, will spend approximately 10 days in Panama during the first phase of the initiative organised by The Brazil Link Ltd.
The young Guyanese athlete is expected to train at the Universidad Latina de Panamá Edge Facility and Ciudad del Saber. He will also play against teams from Panama, Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago as part of the intensive training and cultural exchange programme.
The second phase will take Hendricks to São Paulo, Brazil, where he will be joined by two Trinidadian athletes. They will train and play with Academia de Futebol Real Brasil under coach Cesar Augusto.
Hendricks is said to be in high spirits ahead of the opportunity, while his family has fully supported the initiative and is looking forward to his development during the coming weeks in Central and South America.
Cy Padmore was also recognised for his efforts in helping to ensure Hendricks had a smooth transition into the programme.
