A 34-year-old boat captain was on Monday charged with attempting to set fire to a building and was granted $100,000 bail after pleading not guilty at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
Police said Dwayne Sookdeo, of Puruni Landing, Middle Mazaruni River, appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed, where the charge of attempting to set fire to a building was read to him.
The matter was adjourned to August 10 for continuation.
