There has been tension in CARICOM over Persad-Bissessar’s rejection of a new term for Barnett. A dispute arose over the process for Barnett’s reappointment following a caucus that was held last year at the CARICOM summit in St Kitts-Nevis. Persaud-Bissessar was not present at the caucus.
