Education Minister Sonia Parag yesterday urged participants in the University of Guyana’s Regional Accelerator for STEM Students Readiness (RASSR) programme to take full advantage of the opportunity to expand their knowledge, build relationships and prepare themselves to contribute to Guyana’s future.
A statement from the Ministry of Education said while addressing the programme’s second cohort, Parag encouraged the students to fully immerse themselves in the 14-day initiative, which is designed to strengthen interest and competence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among promising secondary school students from across the country.
She urged participants to remain curious, challenge themselves intellectually and embrace learning beyond the classroom.
Parag also emphasised that the programme extends beyond academic development, encouraging students to forge lasting friendships and appreciate the value of collaboration.
She told the students that many of the world’s best ideas and solutions emerge when people work together, exchange perspectives and learn from one another.
Noting that the participants represent some of Guyana’s most promising young minds, the minister encouraged them to use the programme to explore new ideas, develop lasting bonds and discover their full potential.
The RASSR programme brings together students from across Guyana for an immersive learning experience aimed at strengthening their readiness for further studies and careers in STEM disciplines.
