Parika labourer charged over AK-47s

A 34-year-old labourer of Parika, East Bank Essequibo, was yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with an investigation into the alleged possession of ten AK-47 rifles.

Ryan Singh, also known as “Satan,” appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him.

It is alleged that Singh conspired to commit a felony in relation to the alleged possession of ten AK-47 rifles without the required licence at East Coast Berbice.

Singh pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned until July 10, 2026, for further proceedings.
