“It had to be done. How else would I recover back my money?”
Those were the words of businessman Ameir Ahmed after a video surfaced on social media today showing him repeatedly striking a man with a spade while another individual restrained him inside what appeared to be a warehouse at a Sheriff Street Bond.
In the video, the man can be heard saying, “I don’t know where the key is,” as Ahmed repeatedly hits him about the body with the spade.
When contacted by Kiskadee Watch, Ahmed said the incident occurred several months ago after $9 million was stolen from his vehicle at one of his business bonds though he admitted he cannot clearly recall the location shown in the video.
According to Ahmed, he had parked his vehicle, which contained the cash, and left it unlocked.
“I parked my car and I had $9 million in it and I usually don’t lock my car, and a guy came in and said someone just went into your car and took out a bag,” Ahmed said.
He said he confronted the man seen in the video and asked to search his vehicle.
“So I asked him, ‘Hey, can we check your car please?’ He said no. He don’t know where his car key is.”
Ahmed said the key was eventually obtained and the stolen money was recovered.
“We retrieved it,” he said.
Asked why the matter was never reported to the police, Ahmed said, “We never filed a police report. This was a few months ago. This wasn’t a day ago.”
He defended his actions, saying, “Again, like I said, if someone steals from you… it’s sad, but I mean it had to be done. How else would I recover back my money?”
