The Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning, through the Board of Industrial Training (BIT), will tomorrow host the National Youth Skills Forum and Skills Search Expo 2026 at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
According to a ministry statement, the event will run from 9 am to 4 pm and will bring together government officials, employers, educators, training institutions, industry representatives and young people to discuss the skills required to meet the demands of Guyana’s growing economy.
The ministry said panel discussions will examine workforce readiness, apprenticeships, technical and vocational education and training, industry partnerships and the changing needs of the labour market. Professionals from a range of sectors are also expected to discuss the skills employers are seeking.
The accompanying Skills Search Expo will feature exhibitors from government agencies, training institutions and private sector organisations. Participants will be able to obtain information on training opportunities, career pathways and employment prospects, the statement said.
The ministry said the forum and expo form part of its efforts to strengthen links between education and employment and support workforce development.
Admission to the event is free and it is open to students, job seekers, parents, educators, employers and members of the public.
