Singh, Harris selected for Olympic Youth Camp in Tobago

Archer Arun Singh and athlete Tesianna Harris have been selected to represent Guyana at the 2026 Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Youth Camp from August 23–28 at the Tropical Pleasure Resort in Plymouth, Tobago.

The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) announced that Singh and Harris will attend as youth participants, while athletics official Crystal Persaud will accompany them as the team’s chaperone.

Supported by Olympic Solidarity, the week-long camp will bring together young athletes from National Olympic Committees across the Caribbean for leadership development, Olympic education, cultural exchange and team-building activities.

The programme, which has been held for more than two decades, is intended to help participants develop personally while promoting the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship. It also aims to strengthen cooperation among Caribbean Olympic committees and prepare young athletes to become future leaders and ambassadors for the Olympic Movement.

Participants were chosen based on their commitment to sport, leadership potential, teamwork and willingness to demonstrate Olympic values on and off the field. Chaperones were selected for their ability to serve as responsible and supportive role models.

GOA President Godfrey Munroe and the association’s executive committee congratulated Singh, Harris and Persaud on their selection.

“The Olympic Youth Camp is much more than a sporting programme. It is an investment in developing future leaders for sport and society,” Munroe said.

He added that the camp would allow the Guyanese representatives to learn, grow and form friendships with young people from across the Caribbean while representing their country and the Olympic values.

The GOA also thanked Olympic Solidarity and the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee for their continued support of youth development and regional cooperation.
