Santa Rosa Council says has not approved visit of Opposition Leader

The Santa Rosa Village Council yesterday said that it had not given approval for the visit of Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed to the village today.

A brief statement from Toshao Raul Hendricks said that President Irfaan Ali is having a meeting today in the village which was arranged prior.

“We suggested to Mr Mohamed’s representative, MP Deon La Cruz that the visit takes place on another day.

“We have learned that Mr. Mohamed is still proceeding and we view this as disrespectful to the Village Council and in contravention of the Amerindian Act of 2006.”, Hendricks said.
