Clive Grimmond has been appointed manager for the regional tournament, which will give Guyana’s young players an opportunity to compete against leading Under-19 talent from across the Caribbean.
Guyana Cricket Board President Bissoondyal Singh said the championship would play an important role in the development of the selected players and provide them with valuable regional experience.
He added that the GCB remained committed to supporting women’s cricket and creating clear pathways for talented players to progress to the senior national and West Indies levels.
According to Singh, the board is confident that the squad will represent Guyana with discipline, determination and pride.
The tournament will also provide the players with an opportunity to showcase their abilities and strengthen their case for future selection at higher levels.
The GCB extended best wishes to the players, Smartt, Grimmond and the rest of the management team ahead of the championship.
