Rohan Albert marked his return to competitive golf in impressive fashion on Sunday, winning the ENet Golf Tournament at the Lusignan Golf Club after three months away from competition.
Albert topped the 49-player field with a Gross 90, Handicap 19 and Net 71 to secure first place in a closely contested tournament.
Richard Hanif finished one stroke behind with a Gross 84, Handicap 12 and Net 72, while Mike Mangal claimed third with a Gross 84, Handicap 11 and Net 73.
The tournament was played under bright sunshine, with the course offering different challenges across the two halves. The front nine allowed players to settle into their rounds, while the more difficult back nine placed greater demands on stamina, accuracy and consistency.
Avinash Persaud recorded the Best Gross score of the tournament with 78. Feroze Barkat collected the Nearest to the Pin award, while Hanif added the Longest Drive prize to his second-place finish.
ENet Trade marketer Safraz Mohamed said the company was pleased to support the tournament as part of its wider commitment to expanding opportunities and strengthening community ties.
Albert was also rewarded with a Unnecto phone, compliments of ENet, for his first-place finish.
ANSA McAL also contributed to the prize-giving ceremony by providing hampers for the first and second-place finishers.
The Lusignan Golf Club thanked ENet for its support, noting that partnerships of this nature play an important role in developing golf locally and creating opportunities for players and fans.
The club said it is looking forward to continued collaboration with ENet and other sponsors as efforts continue to promote the sport across Guyana.
