Four EPFA teams advance to GFF Youth Ensemble National Championship

Dartmouth FC’s U13 team

Dartmouth Dominators FC will lead the Essequibo Pomeroon Football Association’s challenge in the upcoming GFF Youth Ensemble National Championship after winning both regional boys’ titles.

Dartmouth and Under-13 runners-up Vertex Vipers FC have qualified for the national competition, along with Under-15 runners-up Charity Extreme FC.

The teams will compete against the champions and second-place finishers from the other eight regional associations when the national phase begins in the coming days. Matches will be staged across all nine associations.

Dartmouth’s double championship success highlighted the conclusion of the EPFA competition, which was celebrated with a presentation ceremony on Sunday, August 9. Young players were joined by club representatives, parents, officials and other members of the football community.

GFF President Wayne Forde travelled from Georgetown for the ceremony and congratulated the players on the discipline and dedication demonstrated during the tournament.

He also praised the EPFA Executive Committee for successfully organising the competition and thanked the participating clubs, referees, parents and other stakeholders for their support.

Forde described the Youth Ensemble Programme as both historic and ambitious, noting that it involves more than 100 clubs across Guyana’s nine regional associations. He credited the GFF’s Technical and Competitions departments for coordinating the initiative and highlighted the role of regional executives in strengthening the foundation of youth football.

Dartmouth finished ahead of Vertex Vipers to capture the Under-13 championship before completing the double by beating Charity Extreme to the Under-15 title.

Vertex Vipers goalkeeper Jamian Jones was named the best goalkeeper in the Under-13 division, while Good Hope FC’s Selvin Williams earned the highest goalscorer award.

Dartmouth’s Antwone Singh received the Under-15 Best Goalkeeper award, with Good Hope’s Yohan Anthonio recognised as the division’s leading goalscorer.

Winners of the U15 title, Dartmouth FC.

The upcoming national championship will bring together Guyana’s leading regional youth teams as the GFF programme moves into its next phase.
