GFF strengthens youth programme as Pedro attends regional workshop

National U14 Boys coach Jamal Pedro completed an Elite Youth Coaches Workshop in the Dominican Republic over the past few days.

The Guyana Football Federation’s preparations for the CFU Under-14 Boys Challenge Series received a boost after national coach Jamal Pedro completed an Elite Youth Coaches Workshop in the Dominican Republic.

Pedro attended the August 12–13 workshop in Punta Cana as he prepares to lead Guyana’s Under-14 boys into regional competition.

Delivered under FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, the programme was designed to strengthen coach education and improve the development of young footballers across the Concacaf region.

The workshop gave Pedro and other youth coaches an opportunity to deepen their technical understanding while exchanging ideas and successful coaching practices. Participants were also involved in practical sessions tailored to the challenges of elite youth competition.

Pedro will now be able to apply the knowledge and fresh perspective gained from the programme to Guyana’s preparations for the CFU series.

The initiative forms part of the GFF’s wider commitment to improving the quality of its coaches while creating a stronger development pathway for the country’s next generation of footballers.
