Golden Godette leads Guyana’s medal haul at CAREBACO Juniors

Guyana’s Anjaneysa Godette

Guyana’s Anjaneysa Godette was crowned the Caribbean’s Girls’ Under-13 Singles champion after winning gold at the CAREBACO Junior Badminton Championships in Jamaica yesterday.

The young Guyanese player led the country’s medal campaign, adding the singles title to the bronze medal she earned with Joel Rambiriche in the Under-13 Mixed Doubles.

Rambiriche also enjoyed an impressive championship, collecting bronze in the Boys’ Under-13 Singles. He earned another bronze in the Boys’ Under-13 Doubles, where he partnered with an athlete from Trinidad and Tobago.

Coached by Priyanna Ramdhani, Guyana concluded the tournament with one gold and four bronze medals.

The national squad comprised Godette, Rambiriche, Christopher Jordan, Percival Chester, Nikolas Pollard, Chioke Nurse and Ruel Rambiriche.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the National Sports Commission extended congratulations to Godette and the entire Guyana team following their performances in Jamaica.
