Guyanese archers will have the opportunity to compete against overseas opposition at home when the country hosts the inaugural Caribbean Archery Championships and eighth Caribbean Developmental Championship from October 22–25, 2026.

The Guyana National Stadium at Providence will stage both competitions, with preparations receiving support from Seven Seas and Vigorton, two brands distributed by Massy Distribution (Guyana) Inc.

Guyana won the hosting rights ahead of Jamaica and will welcome archers, coaches, judges, officials and representatives from the Caribbean and beyond. For Archery Guyana, the event offers a chance to create more competitive opportunities for local athletes while demonstrating the country’s ability to host international tournaments.

Archery Guyana President Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon said the sponsorship would contribute to those efforts.

“This support will assist us in creating opportunities for our athletes while showcasing Guyana’s ability to successfully host international archery events. We look forward to welcoming the region to Guyana in October,” she said.

The partnership marks Vigorton’s first sponsorship of Archery Guyana, while Seven Seas is extending a relationship that began in 2019. That longstanding association reflects shared values including discipline, concentration, focus and precision.

Persaud-McKinnon thanked the company and both brands for their backing as preparations continue for one of the organisation’s major events.

“Seven Seas has been a valued partner over the years, and we are delighted to welcome Vigorton as a sponsor for the first time,” she said.

The sponsorship was handed over at Massy Distribution’s Montrose head office on the East Coast of Demerara. Persaud-McKinnon received it from Health + Beauty Division Manager Neelam Dharmo, Seven Seas Brand Specialist Dileya Deonarine and Vigorton Brand Specialist Danielle Barkoye.

Seven Seas is a health and wellness brand whose products include Omega-3 supplements, cod liver oil and the JointCare range, marketed to support health and active living. Vigorton offers vitamin and mineral formulations intended to supplement everyday nutrition and support general wellbeing.

Their support adds to preparations for the four-day programme at Providence, where Guyana will stage the first Caribbean Archery Championships alongside the eighth edition of the Caribbean Developmental Championship.
