A building and its contents were destroyed by fire at Ivan Road, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, the Guyana Fire Service has reported.
In a statement, the service said Water Tender No. 124, commanded by Section Leader Wickham, was dispatched from the Timehri Fire Station.
The crew extinguished the blaze, but the building and its contents were lost.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
