By Staff Editor Sat, October 31 2026, 1:54 AM GMT-4

Guyana’s men’s national basketball team will begin its quest for a place in the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Qualifiers against hosts Nicaragua on November 27, when Group A action gets underway in Managua.

The confirmed schedule gives Guyana three games in as many days at the Polideportivo Alexis Arguello, with Jamaica and Costa Rica also standing between the national side and a top-two finish.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Qualifiers, making the November 27–29 tournament an important step in Guyana’s campaign.

Guyana will face Nicaragua at 20:00 hrs in its opening encounter before returning the following day to take on Jamaica at 17:30 hrs. The team will complete its Group A fixtures against Costa Rica on November 29, also at 17:30 hrs. All match times are Guyana time.
