Ashmins Fun Park and Resort Inc. is moving to transfer 17 residential lots carved from a 133.4-acre State land lease at Madewini, behind Splashmins Resort on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Sixteen proposed transactions involving the 17 lots were advertised in Saturday’s Official Gazette by the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GL&SC).
The lots range from 0.136 to 0.220 of an acre and have a combined area of approximately 2.745 acres. They form part of State Land Lease No. A31211, issued over 133.4 acres at Block ABC, Madewini, on the western side of the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Two of the lots, measuring 0.186 and 0.176 of an acre, are to be transferred to BAC Holdings. The other proposed recipients are individuals, including persons with addresses in the United States and Jamaica.
The advertised transfers include lots numbered 39, 42, 50, 65, 93, 126, 159, 162, 172, 204, 209, 215, 216, 224, 235, 242 and 247.
Persons with an interest in the land or grounds for objecting to the transactions have seven days from the third publication of the notices to submit written objections to the GL&SC.
Stabroek News reported in July 2022 that Ashmins had launched a $2.5 billion second phase of its Madewini Villas development within the Splashmins Resort compound.
At the launch, Ashmins Group head Lennox John said the company envisioned the project as a waterfront luxury community approximately ten minutes from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri. The development was expected to include private homes and amenities.
In 2015, Stabroek News also reported that Ashmins and the then Ministry of Communities had entered into an agreement for the construction of a US$300,000 wastewater treatment plant to serve Splashmins Fun Park and Resort and Madewini Villas.
The Gazette notices do not state when the 133.4-acre State lease was issued, the consideration for the proposed transfers or the conditions under which the property was subdivided.
