Ruimveldt vendor gets bail on drug trafficking charge

Tyrone DeGroot

A 27-year-old Ruimveldt vendor was yesterday granted $250,000 bail after denying a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking

According to a police release, Tyrone DeGroot appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him.

It is alleged that on June 30, DeGroot had narcotics in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Apart from the bail, DeGroot has to report to the police on the first and third Friday of each month.

The matter was adjourned until July 24 for disclosure.
