A businessman and a vendor were on Tuesday remanded to prison after they were jointly charged with the murder of Levi Williams, also known as `Vamperous’.
Edgar Lawson of Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, and Keiran Barrett, 50, of East La Penitence, Georgetown, appeared separately before Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
The charge alleges that between December 23 and December 25, 2025, at Charlotte Street, Georgetown, the two men murdered Williams.
As the indictable charge was read to them, Lawson and Barrett were not required to plead.
Bail was refused and both men were remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned until July 29, 2026, for further proceedings.
Williams’ body was found stuffed in a barrel in the Le Repentir Cemetery. He was reportedly beaten to death over a stolen gun.
