Former T&HD worker celebrates 101st birthday

John Francis Duesbury, a former Transport and Harbours Department (T&HD) employee, recently marked his 101st birthday.

Staff of the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security’s Difficult Circumstances Unit visited Duesbury at his South Ruimveldt home yesterday and presented him with a gift basket, the ministry said.

Duesbury and his late wife, Evelyn, spent 73 years together and raised 10 children. His advice to younger people is simple: “Do more good than bad.”

Minister of Human Services and Social Security Dr Vindhya Persaud extended birthday greetings and wished him continued good health.
