GL&SC moving to repossess Long Creek State land

The Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission is proposing to cancel a lease for nearly ten acres of State land at Long Creek on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway and repossess the property for reallocation.

According to a notice in Saturday’s Official Gazette, State Land Lease No. A26281 is held by Munishwar Singh and covers 9.920 acres identified as Tract “MS” at Long Creek.

The commission said cancellation of the lease would allow the land to be repossessed and reallocated. However, the notice did not state why the lease is being cancelled or the purpose for which the land is to be reassigned.

Persons with an interest in the property or grounds for opposing the cancellation have seven days from the third publication of the notice to submit written objections to the Commissioner of Lands and Surveys.

The objections must be lodged at the commission’s office at 22 Upper Hadfield Street, D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown.
