A man who New York prosecutors say is from Guyana was arrested on Thursday for firebombing a smoke shop while wearing a Guy Fawkes mask.

According to the New York Daily News he  is also suspected of throwing Molotov cocktails at two churches and an ambulette service, authorities say

Yogesh Sayrange, 36, faces federal charges for the Brooklyn store arson, and sources familiar with the case say the federal authorities  are now looking to indict him for the Wednesday night church attacks as well, the report said.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashlyn Miranda said he’s linked to at least seven other acts of arson over the past two weeks.

The report said that Sayrange interrupted the Brooklyn Federal Court proceedings with several outbursts, calling the victims “criminal cartels” and “foreign enemies.”

The federal authorities had been looking to arrest Sayrange after an investigation identified him as the mask-wearing man suspected of setting fire to the smoke shop on Fulton St. at 12:22 a.m. June 25.

The report said that he threw what a criminal complaint describes as a green glass bottle with screws attached, containing what looked like hair, rocks, an ignitable liquid and other items. The bottle was connected with gray tape to two black plastic bags. The blaze caused severe damage to the store’s floor before the proprietor extinguished it. The complaint doesn’t identify the store.
