Man wanted by CANU turns self in

Patrick Sanmoogan

Patrick Kireem Sanmoogan, for whom the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) had issued a wanted bulletin, turned himself in to the authorities yesterday with a lawyer.

CANU head, James Singh, said the man was arrested when he turned up at the unit’s Carifesta Avenue headquarters.

CANU had issued a wanted bulletin for the Georgetown man in connection with a narcotics trafficking investigation.

In the bulletin, CANU identified Sanmoogan, whose last known address was listed as Lot 65 Norton Street, Lodge, Georgetown.

The agency had said Sanmoogan is wanted in relation to the alleged possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
