President Irfaan Ali is in Port Kaituma meeting with persons who were rescued as well as relatives of those still missing following the MV Barima tragedy, according to a brief statement from the Office of the President. The President had been out of the country at the time of the disaster on Saturday night that has left dozens missing and feared dead. Sixty-seven persons have been rescued and two bodies have been recovered.
