Tribute programme to be held in honour of Dr Ian McDonald

“Honouring an Artistic Legacy”, to pay tribute to the late Dr. Ian McDonald, will be held on Sunday, October 11th at the Theatre Guild, Playhouse, in Kingston, from 4.00p.m to 6.00p.m.

A release from GEMS Theatre Production said that the programme will feature Ian’s popular works in poetry, playwriting, song writing and skits, for an evening of nostalgic memory.

Ron Savory’s paintings inspired by Ian’s “ESSEQUIBO” poems will be on display together with Ian’s 19 publications, the release said.

Artists and singers appearing on the show will be – Sean Bhola, Russel Lancaster, Kimberly Samuels, Kwasi ‘Ace’ Edmondson, Paul Budnah, Mark Luke -Edwards, Brandon Singh, Rovindra Persaud, Tchaiko Rodney, Amrita Khoshall, Simone Dowding, Vijay Somai, Margaret Lawrence, Derek Gomes, Kreative Arts Dancers and readings of Ian’s poems by Lloyd Marshall, Jacob and Zoey McDonald and Kit Nascimento.

The event is hosted by Gem Madhoo-Nascimento and produced by GEMS Theatre Productions.

The public is invited to attend.
