Two men die after car overturns at Eversham

Two men are dead and two others were injured following a horrific early-morning crash on the Eversham Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice yesterday.

Dead are Daniel Singh, the driver of the motor car, and 19-year-old Admeer Pooran of Rosignol, West Bank Berbice.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 am and involved motor car PZZ 9131, which was reportedly travelling south along the eastern drive lane of the Eversham Public Road at a fast rate.

According to police, the left rear tyre of the vehicle reportedly suffered a blowout, causing Singh to lose control of the car.

The vehicle subsequently collided with a concrete pile on the western side of the roadway before overturning on a bridge.

Singh and his three passengers Pooran, 16-year-old Brandon Suban of Rosignol, and 23-year-old Mark Nhace of Mackenzie Street, Rosignol were reportedly flung from the vehicle onto the road surface.

Public-spirited citizens rushed to their assistance and transported all four men, who were found unconscious, to the #75 Regional Public Hospital.

A doctor on duty pronounced Singh and Pooran dead on arrival.

Their bodies were subsequently taken to a funeral home mortuary, where they are awaiting post-mortem examinations.

Meanwhile, Suban and Nhace later regained consciousness and were treated for injuries before being admitted to the Male Surgical Ward for observation.

Police said investigations into the fatal collision are continuing.
