West Indies open IMC Over-60 World Cup with four-wicket win over India

Rajendra Dilraj claimed 5-18

West Indies made a winning start to the 2026 International Masters Cricket (IMC) Over-60 45-over World Cup after completing a four-wicket victory over India on Sunday at Paul Coffey Park in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Chasing 152 for victory, the Caribbean side reached the target with 22 balls to spare, with opener Deonarine Deyal carrying his bat for an unbeaten 60 from 139 deliveries.

Deyal struck three fours during his patient innings and received valuable support from captain Zamin Amin, who contributed 37 to keep the chase on course.

India’s KR Kishore caused some problems with an economical spell of 3-17 from nine overs, but West Indies had enough in hand to secure the points.

The victory was set up earlier by leg-spinner Rajendra Dilraj, who produced the standout performance of the match with figures of 5-18 from 8.4 overs.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, West Indies restricted India to 151 in the 44th over as Dilraj ripped through the batting order.

Rajendrasammy Chetana provided strong support with 3-28 from his full quota of nine overs, while Hyder Ali was India’s leading batsman with 52.

Dilraj’s five-wicket haul earned him the Player-of-the-Match award.

The 14-team round-robin tournament continues today with matches across the Greater Toronto Area. West Indies will have a bye, while India will face the United States.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on August 23.
