KARCC fields six riders in Guyanese challenge at Tour de Bim

Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club (KARCC) will have six cyclists competing at this weekend’s Tour de Bim in Barbados

Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club (KARCC) will have six cyclists competing at this weekend’s Tour de Bim in Barbados, forming part of a 14-member Guyanese contingent that departed yesterday.

National Under-23 champion Ajani Cutting joins Alex Mendes, Andre Greene, Kwame Fortune, Tandeia Noel and Quincy Ridley in the KARCC group for the fourth edition of the international cycling event.

The tour is scheduled for October 1–4, with three competitive stages advertised across the event period.

Guyana’s travelling party includes 12 cyclists and two support officials. Tyrone Hamilton will serve as team manager, while Richard Lewis will handle mechanical duties.

The wider contingent features national road race champion Briton John of We Stand United, Evolution Cycling Club riders Christopher Griffith and Segun Hubbard, and Continental Cycling Club’s Alexander Leung.

Aaron Newton, and Mark Spencer are also making the trip.

Since its debut in 2023, Tour de Bim has brought local and overseas cyclists together on Barbados’ roads. The event takes its name from “Bim”, a familiar nickname for Barbados, and combines international competition with the island’s sports tourism programme.

The Guyanese cyclists are scheduled to return home on October 6.
